Exercise Your Way to Weight Loss

To lose excess weight, exercise and a healthy diet are keys to success. You can not lose weight overnight. You can not maintain a healthy body and keep weight off without discipline and commitment to a program of healthy eating and exercise.

Exercise increases the body's endurance. As you become stronger, you increase your metabolism which help s you to burn more calories and this results in weight loss.

Exercise has no side effects. It is beneficial to both physical and mental health. However, if you do not exercise properly, you can injure yourself if you do not warm-up before starting to exercise or cooling down after a strenuous exercise session.

If you are not used to exercising, you should consult your doctor. Have a complete physical. Make sure you have no medical problems which can lead to weight gain. Ask your doctor about the best type of exercises for you at your age.

WaterTalk to your parents about your weight problem. They may give you a gym membership. A fitness trainer can help you to develop an exercise program.

If you are shy about exercising in front of other people, there are alternatives. You can exercise at home. You can start by doing some warm-up exercises and then jogging or walking and cooling down afterwards. There are a number of DVDs on the market that are complete exercise classes. Some of the most popular include aerobics, tae bo, Pilates, and yoga.

When you exercise, remember to drink lots of water. You do not want to get dehydrated. Water cleanses the system.

If you like sports, why not play? You do not have to join the varsity team. You can find sports activities in various community centers.

It is difficult, not only for teens but adults as well, to admit they have a weight problem. It is nothing to be ashamed of. You can take control of your life with discipline and commitment.

You can succeed if you start.
